There's always something new to see at the Museum of the Rockies, Montana State University - Bozeman. You'll travel through 4 billion years of Earth's history beginning in the geology hall, Landforms/Lifeforms. Your next stop is One Day 80 Million Years Ago, a recreation of the dinosaur nesting colonies discovered by Jack Horner, the Museum's Curator of Paleontology. Travel on through exhibits about Montana's Native Americans and the state's recent history. And don't miss the world-class Taylor Planetarium for a new perspective on Montana's Big Sky. During the summer, visit a living history farm and see what life was like a century ago on a Montana homestead. And each summer, the Museum features a new exhibit. West of Wonder: The Natural History of Lewis & Clark. Often thought of as America's great adventure story, the Lewis and Clark Expedition should also be thought of as America's first great scientific endeavor. As we commemorate this great exploration, we also celebrate - in this exhibit - a scientific achievement that represents the epitome of Enlightenment Science.

We were traveling from California to Yellowstone park when our trip ad to be cut short. This was a place I really wanted to stop at but it was out of the way on our original route. Due to car issues, it brought us to Bozeman and as we were renting a car, the guy said that we could stop here. I was so excited because I wanted to see dinosaurs. THIS PLACE IS AMAZING OMGAAAAAWD!!!! I was so fascinated with the displays and the history. This was just spectacular. We were there when they first opened and pretty much had the place to ourselves. This is a must. They also have a frog display and a car display and a war exhibit.

This was an amazing museum. SO much ti see and experience. Between the dinosaur history, montana history, live frogs, live farm museum, plus the amazing children's okay area! So much for the entire family to enjoy. I loved walking around the building and love farm and seeing all of the flowers. It was beautiful! The only bad experience we had is your are not able to see the shows unless you have a pass for the day. We had bought a pass went through the exhibits and had planned on coming back today to see 2 off the shows. But you are not able to buy them separate of the pass. You need to purchase a pass for the day before you can pay the $6 to see the show. If we had know when we purchased our passes we would have tried to walk through the exhibits faster to ensure we had enough time to go to at least one.

So glad I chose this as my museum for the day. Amazing display of dinosaur and mammalian fossils found throughout Montana. Learned alot about the history of Montana and really enjoyed the frog displays. The planetarium was unexpectedly informative concerning biological entities in deep space.

The Museum of the Rockies was one of our highlights from our time in Bozeman ! Such a cool, interesting, educational museum for all ages. You do want to plan ahead to take advantage of a show at the planetarium and have time to walk through the museum. We spent 2h30 walking, reading and watching everything. 100% would recommend

My whole family really enjoyed this museum. We spent a couple hours here easily and still weren't able to read all of the information. Do not forget to visit the little homestead place just off the left of the main building. It has a lot of old neat things in and around the building. (It's included in the museum admission.)
